Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore who is also known as Shakespeare of Bengal was awarded Nobel of literature for his book Gitanjali and became a first non European to be awarded for this prize. But apart from being a poet or writer he was a music maestro, a good composer and singer, an actor and director of his self written plays.This founder of shantiniketan vishwavidyalaya also known as a creater of national anthems of India and Bangladesh.
This book is a collection of his engish 103 poems widely appreciated in western literary world and originally written in bengali and then translated to english.
The theme of these poems is love and devotion to the god and in mystic devotional way he described beautifully the feelings towards the creator of this world.
