The mystic poet and philosopher Kabir told about whatever he saw. He commented on religion, social ironies and even himself in his unique satirical language.
Hindu and muslim both believe him belonging their religion and give same respect although no one is sure about his origin. He was from Banaras and weaver by profession. He opposed fanatism and superstitions in all religions. He is also known as a leading poet of BhaktiKaal.
Kabir literature is find in the form of bhajan, kundaliyan and doha.
Dohas are the most popular literary work of kabir. In school curriculam is is taught as a part of hindi language education. Most of us have read kabir in our childhood in our school textbooks. This is rightly said about his dohas-
'Dekhan me chote lage ghaav karen gambhir'
